A HOUSE DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF
CANNOT STAND

A nation, a community or a family can prosper only by living in harmony. The different parts and members must unite in prompting the same objectives if divided. If one part undoes what the other does, then it must fall.

My friends, history has numerable examples said to show us that whenever any country, its rulers, diplomats and the masses at large have worked for the same objective, they have risen to a glorious position on the globe.

Be it the evolution of Greeks, Egypt and the vast English empire where the sun never set or the America of mighty modern era. You will find clearly one thing, they were united. Could Alexander achieve what he did in 326 B.C. Were he and his army men not united for a common cause but as soon as the cracks came even the mightiest of the mighty fall.

My friends, you all know that our fore fathers lived differently in joint families with the concept of simple living and high thinking. The structural frame work was such that the cousins grew together sharing the bond of love which inducted moral values of respect, tolerance, responsibility; integrity etc. to the child. But today, life has become self-centered. Even nuclear families are falling apart. Millions of pending divorce cases is an evident example. The aging and lonely parents of the people who have migrated to west or urban culture is a common problem destroying the family physique. From humans we have become machines and hoses have disintegrated.

Not only in intellectual human thought, but unity has been applicable even in the animal world from the ages. One can seldom see an elephant or a deer roaming alone in a jungle. The sense of security they get moving as a herd is extremely important for their very survival. Similarly, hundreds of ants together can kill a venomous snake.

So, unity has always been the strength. Though all the fingers are not alike, the power of the fist which brings the five fingers together is immense. Modern day mathematicians have already told us that the vector sum of forces acting in the same direction is far more reaching than that of acting in opposite direction. The diversity in a group has a very positive multiplying effect on the strength of unity. So, let us not split into factions which must destroy that union upon which our existence hangs. As,

A HOUSE DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF CAN’T STAND.
